MicroStation CONNECT Edition Help

To Modify a Parametric Solid or Feature

  1. Select the Modify Parametric Solid or Feature tool.
  2. Select the parametric solid or feature.

If Edit Solids About ID Point is on, this data point defines the point about which the modification(s) are made.

A dialog opens, displaying the parameters that can be edited for the solid or feature that was selected. The parameters correspond to the tool settings for the tool used to create the solid or feature.

    Solids:

Solid Dialog Parameters to edit Tool used to create
Parametric slab Edit Slab Length, Width, Height Slab Feature
Parametric sphere Edit Sphere Radius Sphere Feature
Parametric cone or cylinder Edit Cone Top Radius, Base Radius (cone only), Height Cylinder Feature , or Cone Feature
Parametric torus Edit Torus Angle, Primary Radius, Radius Torus Feature

Tapered face Edit Taper Draft Angle Taper Face Feature
Extended face Edit Extended Face Extend Distance, Move Face, Show Original Face Position Extend Face Feature

If a slab is selected, dynamics display indicating the direction of the Length, Width, and Height parameters.

  3. Edit the parameters as desired.
  4. Do one of the following:

Click OK to apply the edited parameters to the solid or feature.

    or

Click Cancel to close the dialog without making any changes.

Note: If a solid has all of its edges and vertices rounded or chamfered, you cannot select it graphically as there are no edges to select. To modify the solid’s parameters, you must either expose one or more edges (by suppressing the appropriate type of feature) or use the Feature Manager. Features are suppressed using the Feature Manager or by suppressing individual nodes in the feature tree.
Note: To modify the parameters of the solid's profile, use the Modify Profile tool.
