Text

  • Edit Text
  • Used to edit text in a text, text node, or dimension element to replace, add, or delete characters.
  • Spell Checker
  • Used to review text, text nodes, tags, dimensions, notes and symbols for spelling errors.
  • Match Text Attributes
  • Used to set the active text settings (such as Justification, Font, Line Spacing Type, Underline, Slant Angle, and Inter Character Spacing) the same as the corresponding attributes of text in the design.
  • Place Text Along
  • Used to place text relative to line segment (line element or segment of a line string, shape, or multi-line).
  • Find/Replace Text
  • Used to search all the text in a DGN file for any sequence of letters and numbers and replace some or all instances of the text with other text.
  • Change Case
  • Used to change the case of a piece of text.
  • Update All Fields
  • Used to update all fields in the text elements in the active model or file.
  • Drop Text
  • Used to convert the text characters in a text element to the individual elements that are used to draw the characters — lines, line strings, arcs, ellipses, and shapes.
  • Text Styles
  • Used to create and modify text styles. Also sets the active text style or, if a style is not active, the active text attributes.

Notes

  • Place Note
  • Used to place lines of text with a leader line and arrow, or a callout without a leader.

Dimensioning

  • Dimension Linear
  • Used to dimension the linear distance between two points (length).
  • Dimension Angular
  • Used to dimension angles. Each dimension (except the first) is computed from the endpoint of the previous dimension.
  • Dimension Ordinates
  • Used to label distances along an axis from an origin (datum) along the ordinate axis (the line along which the distances are measured).
  • Change Dimension
  • Used to change a dimension element to the active dimension attributes.
  • Dimension Audit
  • Used to search all the dimensions in the active model and report any problems.
  • Dimension Styles
  • Used to create and modify dimension styles. Also sets the active dimension style (or, if a style is not active, the active dimension settings).

Table

Detailing

  • Cloud By Element
  • Used to create a revision cloud by modifying or copying an existing element.

Cells

  • Replace Cells
  • Used to replace single or multiple cells in a model, or to update cells in a model, with cells of the same name from the active cell library.
  • Select and Place Cell
  • Used to select a cell in the DGN file and place an additional instance(s) of that cell.
  • Define Cell Origin
  • Used to define the cell origin (the point about which the cell is placed).
  • Place Active Line Terminator
  • Used to place the Active Line Terminator cell on a line, line string, arc, or complex chain, primarily to place arrowheads. The line terminator maintains association with the element on which it is placed. Thus, if you move or rotate the element, the line terminator moves or rotates along with the element.
  • Place Cell Index
  • Used to create and place a cell index. A cell index contains all of the models in the active DGN file that are marked as “Can be placed as cell.”
  • Cell Selector
  • Selecting a cell library from the Select Cell Library to Load dialog opens the Cell Selector dialog, which is used to find and place cells.
  • Identify Cell
  • Used to display the name and level of a cell in the design.
  • Cells
  • Used to attach cell libraries and activate different types of cells, if one is attached.

Patterns

  • Hatch Area
  • Used to hatch an area. Elements used to define the area to be hatched can be in the active model, or in references.
  • Crosshatch Area
  • Used to crosshatch an area. Elements used to define the area to be crosshatched can be in the active model, or in references.
  • Pattern Area
  • Used to pattern an area by tiling the active pattern cell or AutoCAD pattern. Elements used to define the area to be patterned can be in the active file, or in references.
  • Match Pattern Attributes
  • Used to pattern an area by tiling the active pattern cell or AutoCAD pattern. Elements used to define the area to be patterned can be in the active file, or in references.
  • Match the current attributes and/or pattern parameters.
  • Redefine the intersection point of the patterning.
  • Re-flood the area.
  • Linear Pattern
  • Used to draw or "tile" a pattern along an existing linear element. That is, to replace the linear element with repetitions of the pattern cell.

Terrain Model

  • Label Coordinates
  • Used to label coordinate points in the design by entering a data point.
  • Label Element
  • Used to label the coordinates of elements. When you label an element, all of the element's keypoints are labelled (all vertices and the origin).
  • Import Coordinates
  • Used to import coordinates from an ASCII text file and place them as points, text, or cells.
