STAAD.Pro V2023.00.02 / 2023.00.03
The following major features have been added to STAAD.Pro 2023. This document should be read in conjunction with all other STAAD.Pro help files, including the Revision History document found in the Readme.
Effective Length Calculator Tool for Steel Design
A new tool has been added for automatically calculating the
effective length related design parameters (KY
,
KZ
, LY
, and
LZ
parameters) used for batch steel design.
These effective lengths are calculated per AISC 360. Other codes,
such as Eurocode 3, may be added in future releases.
RAM Connection 2023
RAM Connection 2023.00.01 is now supported in STAAD.Pro 2023.
- AISC bolted connections per J3.6.
- Mini haunches
- AS out-of-plane tubular truss connections
- AISC web connection enhancements
- Column cap brace joint type
- Updates to CSA S16-19
- AISC tubular truss classifications
- Enhanced use of FY and FU
- Updated fastening to concrete per EN 1992
- Updates to AS 4000-2020
- Tubular truss connections per EN and CSA
- Report engine enhancements for tables and graphics
- Ordinary moment frames (OMF) demand for all moment connections
- Directly bolted coped we braces to gusset plates for NXS, CSA, IS, and EN codes
- AISC base plate update per AISC 319-19

Chinese Cold-formed Steel Design
Additional Standard Section Database Shapes
Cold-formed catalog sections have been added to the standard sections database.
- Chinese - Cold Formed per:
- GB 50018-2002
- GB_T 6723-2017
- JGT 380-2012
- Indian - Cold Formed per IS 2023
- American - US Cold Formed per AISI 2023
Enhancements to Reports
Steel design reports from numerous additional design codes can now be included in the latest reporting format. Additionally, picture management capabilities have also been added in reporting.
2016 Edition of the Dutch National Annex to Eurocode 3
An updated version of the Dutch NA to EN-1993-1-1 has been added.
Enclosed Zone Loads in Global Directions
In addition to applying enclosed zone loads normal to the area of the zone definition, you may now apply these loads parallel to global model axes.
Wind Load for Models with Z-up
Print Element Joint Displacements to Output
You can now include plate node displacements within the output. This accounts for plate release effects.
Out-of-Plane Shear Forces in Postprocessing
The program can now display plate shear stresses with respect to global axes. This aids in interpreting the plate shear stresses particularly plates have varying local orientation. Select Global Shear Stress for the Stress Type. The in-p[lane stresses are now labeled Global Direct Stress to differentiate the contour types.
The global stress results for plates are also now available for inclusion in reports, as well.
Output File Verification Tool
For STAAD Nuclear QA&R licenses, a tool has been added to run included verification file sets and compare these with benchmark values. This is used to expedite the validation process for these accounts and allow the QA&R version to be distributed to account team members. This interface for this feature was further revised for the 2023.00.03 release.
