Pipes Gallery

Used to place piping components.

Accessed from the Piping ribbon:

The following gallery displays which can be left floating or docked to the drawing area.

The following table shows the component options in the gallery and their key in syntax are also listed. Selecting a tool from one of the placement toolboxes activates the Place Component tool settings. The generic placement settings, along with the unique set of dimensional and data properties provide the core workflow used to accurately position piping components in the model.

Component Description <component class> in Placement Key In syntax (Mechaddin PLACE <component class> dsc=Piping)
Pipe Variable length component which requires a Start point and end point for the component. Continuous runs can be placed complete with bend/branch options that can be automatically placed using the AutoFitting method. PIPE
Wall Pipe Variable length component placed using a start and end point. The length from the start point to the collar is defined in the Place Component dialog. (AutoFitting method is not available when placing Walled Pipe) WALL_PIPE
Spool Piece Fixed component length component placed using a placement point and picking a direction for the component. The length is defined in the Place Component dialog. There is an option when placing spooled pipe which enables you to place multiple instances over a distance automatically. The Auto-Placement option is included in the Place Component dialog when the Place Spool Piece option is selected. SPOOL_PIECE
Flexible Hose Variable length component which allows you to create curves with the placement by selecting multiple data points in the drawing. FLEXIBLE_HOSE
Freeform Nozzle A Freeform nozzle can be placed freely on equipment or in space like any other piping component using mouse and Accudraw. When placing on equipment, it will be placed so that it is perpendicular to the equipment surface it is being placed (i.e. it's main port direction will be perpendicular to equipment surface nozzle is placed on).
