M. To add a concentrated force or moment on members
To add either concentrated forces or members at a point along the length of a member, use the following procedure.

Either:
- On the
Loading ribbon tab, select the
Load Items tool in the
Loading Specifications group
Tip: This will add the load item to the currently selected load group selected in the program status bar.
- In the Load & Definition dialog, select a primary load case in the Load Cases Details list and then click Add.
The Add New Load Items dialog opens. - On the
Loading ribbon tab, select the
Load Items tool in the
Loading Specifications group

Select either:
- the Member Load > Concentrated Force tab
- the Member Load > Concentrated Moment tab

Type the location along the length of the member to the
concentrated load,
d1.
This distance is measured from the start node of the member.
- Type the lateral offset from the geometric centerline to the load, d2.

Select the
Direction option in which the load acts.
Concentrated loads can be applied in the global or local coordinates.

Click
Add.
The load item is added to the selected load case.
