STAAD.Pro Physical Modeler Help

Model Ribbon Tab

Contains general modeling tools.

Table 1. Create group
Tool name Description

UCS
Opens the Create UCS dialog, which is used specify the origin and orientation of a custom coordinate system.

Grid
Opens the Create Grid, which is used to enter the properties for planar grid systems

Structure Wizard
Opens the STAAD.Pro Physical Modeller Structure Wizard window, which is used to add parametric models from defined templates.

Member
Used to draw members graphically by snapping to nodes or grid points in the view window.

Surface
Used to draw surfaces graphically by snapping to nodes or grid points in the view window.

Polygonal Openings
Used to draw irregular polygonal openings in surfaces graphically by snapping to nodes or grid points in the view window.

Circular Openings
Opens the Add Circular Openings dialog, which is used to draw regular polygonal openings with a specified radius and number of facets.

Region
Used to draw a region graphically on a surface.

Reference Line
Used to draw a reference line graphically on a surface.

Panel
Used to draw panel loads onto surfaces graphically by snapping to nodes or grid points in the view window.

Tool name Description

Translational Repeat
Opens the Translational Repeat dialog, which is used to make a copy of a selected portion of the model along an axis direction (i.e., translational copy).

Move
Opens the Move dialog, which is used to translate selected model objects with respect to a coordinate system's axes.

Rotate
Opens the Rotate model dialog, which is used to either move or copy a selected portion of the model about an axis (i.e., rotational copy).

Circular Repeat
Opens the Circular Repeat dialog, which is used to generate copies of a selected portion of the model in a cylindrical array.

Mirror
Opens the Mirror dialog, which is used to generate a "mirrored" copy of a selected portion of the model about a plane.

Integrity Check
Opens the Model Integrity Check dialog, which is used to perform a range of checks for duplicate objects, overlapping objects, orphan nodes, warped surfaces, and zero length members.

Segment
Segments the model into component analytical elements per the settings on the Configuration dialog.
Tip: You can preview the segmented model by using the Analysis Model tool on the View ribbon tab.

Tool name Description

Story
Automatically detects and assigns story numbers to members.

Tool name Description

Return to Analytical Modeling
Close STAAD.Pro Physical Modeler and open the modeling file in the Analytical Modeling workflow.
Table 5. iTwin group
Tool name Description

iTwin Services
Opens the iTwin Services panel, where you can use Design Review to coordinate model reviews or use iTwin Synchronizer to synchronize the model data with either iModelHub or a local ISM repository.
