STAAD.Pro Physical Modeler Help

Catalog Ribbon Tab

Contains tools for adding and editing materials, sections, and load definitions.

Table 1. Sections and Materials group
Tool Description

Add section
Opens the Add section dialog, which is used to add a new section to the Model catalog. The parameters of this dialog are analogous to the Assign section dialog, except no section assignment is made to any members.

Add material
Opens the Add material dialog, which is used to add a new material to the Model catalog. The parameters of this dialog are analogous to the Assign material dialog, except no material assignment is made to any members or surfaces.

Section Database
:Launches the Section Database Manager window.
Table 2. Groups group
Tool Description

Groups
Opens the Element Group dialog, which is used to create a new group of elements (nodes, members, and surfaces).
Table 3. Load Definitions group
Tool name Description

Time History
Opens the Create: Time History load definition dialog, which is used to specify the parameters for a time history loading on the structure. The time history data may be specified using either explicit definition or a function specification.

Seismic
Opens the Create: Seismic load definition dialog, which is used to add code-prescribed parameters for a static seismic load (i.e., an equivalent lateral force method) for use in applying those seismic loads to the structure.

Response Spectrum
Opens the Create: Response Spectrum load definition dialog, which is used to add code-prescribed parameters for a response spectra analysis to the structure. A response spectrum is used to model dynamic seismic loading of a structure.

Wind
Opens the Create: Wind Load Defintion dialog, which is used to add either code-prescribed parameters for wind loads or a wind intensity profile.

Snow
Opens the Create: Snow Load Definition dialog, which is used to add snow load parameters per ASCE 7.
