The Engineering Content Framework (ECFramework) provides tools for transferring data directly to and from other Bentley products, and to/from other applications through the use of a File System Repository (FSR).

The basis of the ECFramework are user configurable schemas that define objects (classes) and properties of those objects. Relationships between objects are also supported. For example, a PlantWise pipe's connectivity would be represented by the following relations:
