OpenCities Geospatial Administrator is a standalone application that is run outside of OpenCities Map to configure both the metadata and the workspaces used to place and maintain XFM features. OpenCities Geospatial Administrator stores the configuration in a single geospatial schema XML file that, when exported, produces the metadata files to be used by OpenCities Map.

With this application the XFM framework can be managed through one interface. This includes defining and maintaining XFM project files and geographic objects (features) which include their properties, symbology settings, annotations, operations, and methods.

OpenCities Geospatial Administrator also provides tools for defining the user interface which is dynamically loaded at run‐time. OpenCities Geospatial Administrator will also automatically generate customized MicroStation workspaces and the necessary OpenCities Map files required to describe the various features, operations, and interfaces.
