OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Help

Methods

Methods define entry points for XFM-based commands. Most of the time, methods are related to features. By default, OpenCities Geospatial Administrator creates features that have three methods associated with them: Place, Edit, and Annotate.

Typically, these three methods will be called in sequence during a placement operation. First, the Place method guides you through placing the graphical element. Then Edit allows the feature's properties to be updated. And finally, Annotate lets you place a feature's annotation text if defined for the feature.

Non feature-based methods also exist. For example, a method may simply open a dialog containing information. The Analyze Feature Tool is an example of an Open type of method.

OpenCities Geospatial Administrator offers a set of pre-defined methods to manipulate XFM features called the Standard Operations Library.
