Animate Tab

Create

  • Create Actor
  • Used to create an actor from one or more elements in a design.
 

Modify Actor

  • Modify Actor
  • Used to modify the name of an actor, and enable or disable the axes about which an actor can be moved, rotated or scaled.
  • Copy Actor
  • Used to copy one actor to another actor.
  • Manipulate Actor
  • Used to manipulate an actor relative to the axes defined when the actor was created.
  • Attach Actor
  • Used to attach one actor to a second actor, so that it will move or rotate with the second actor when it (the second actor) is manipulated.
  • Detach Actor
  • Used to detach an actor (that is, negate the result of the Attach Actor tool).
  • Camera View
  • Used to display, in a selected view, the scene as viewed from an animation camera.
  • Drop Actor
  • Used to convert (drop) an actor back into its components.
 

Script

  • Script Actor
  • Used to create a script to parametrically position an actor during an animation sequence.
  • Script Camera
  • Used to script an animation camera in a sequence.
  • Script Target
  • Used to specify the time at which to activate/deactivate targets.
  • Script Attach Actor
  • Used to script the attachment of one actor to another during an animation sequence.
  • Script Detach Actor
  • Used to script the detachment of one actor from another during an animation sequence.
  • Global Lighting
  • Used to animate Global Lighting settings. This is done by scripting the required setting at various times or frame numbers.
  • Source Lighting
  • Light sources can be moved in an animation by attaching them to actors that move. Alternatively, they can be made into actors themselves, and scripted to move and/or rotate.
  • Script Element Attribute
  • Used to animate element attributes — visibility, color, transparency — during an animation sequence.
  • Materials
  • Used to animate material characteristics.
 

Control

  • Play
  • Starts playing the animation sequence in the preview view.
  • Start
  • Sets the sequence back to the starting time or frame.
  • Pause
  • Stops the animation at the current time or frame number.
  • End
  • Sets the sequence to the end time or frame.
  • Animation Settings
  • Used to define animation settings for previewing and recording. Also used to display the current time of the animation frame in the view while previewing the animation or in a movie produced by the animator.
 

Traffic

  • Single Lane
  • Used to place a set of vehicles along the single lane roadway and add a script entry.
  • Multi-Lane
  • Used to place a set of vehicles along a multi lane roadway and add a script entry.
  • Link Exit
  • Used to link an exit lane to the main roadway.
  • Link Inside
  • Used to link two single lanes such that the first is the inside lane and the second is the outside lane.
  • Link Outside
  • Used to link two single lanes such that the first is the outside lane and the second is the inside lane.
  • Delete Lane
  • Used to delete a lane. Deleting the lane also deletes all the vehicles associated with that lane.
  • Attach Camera
  • Used to place a camera on a vehicle for animating from the vantage point of the vehicle.
  • Show Lane Links
  • Used to view the links of the selected lane to other lanes.
