To manually select the character encoding
used in the editor, use the following procedure.
You may typically only need to change the
encoding to view some analysis output files. The auto-detect setting will work for STAAD
input files.For example, to correctly view the design results for steel design per
the Russian SP 16.13330.2017 code, you must select Cyrillic (Windows) (1251:
windows-1251)
as the method of encoding.

On the Home ribbon tab in the STAAD.Pro Editor,
select the Settings tool in the
Settings group.
The
Settings dialog opens.

On the General tab, select the appropriate encoding
system from the Default Encoding drop-down list.

Click OK.
You are prompted to reload the file if one is open.

Click Yes.
