STAAD.Pro HelpTechnical Reference of STAAD CommandsTR.22 Member and Element Releases TR.22 Member and Element Releases STAAD.Pro allows specification of releases of degrees of freedom for frame members and plate elements. TR.22.1 Member Release SpecificationThis set of commands may be used to fully release specific degrees of freedom at the ends of frame members. They may also be used to describe a mode of attachment where the member end is connected to the joint for specific degrees of freedom through the means of springs.TR.22.2 Element Release SpecificationThis set of commands may be used to release specified degrees of freedoms at the corners of plate finite elements.TR.22.3 Element Ignore StiffnessStructural units like glass panels or corrugated sheet roofs are subjected to loads like wind pressures or snow loads. While these units are designed to carry those loads and transmit those loads to the rest of the structure, they are not designed to provide any additional stiffness to the structure. One way to handle the situation is to not input the unit as part of the structural model, and apply the load using load generation techniques like AREA LOAD or FLOOR LOAD.Parent Topic: Technical Reference of STAAD CommandsRelated ConceptsG.7 Member and Element Release
