Layout - Columns - Change Materials
The Layout - Columns - Change Materials command is used to change the material designation of one or more columns (for example a steel column can be changed to a concrete column). To only change properties, use the Layout - Columns - Change Properties command.
- From the Material menu, select the material to which the column is to be changed.
- Select the Layout - Columns - Change Materials menu. The default properties of the current Material mode will be visible. Make changes if desired.
- Click either Single or Fence.

| Single: | Click the target cursor on the column whose material you would like to change to the new material. The color of the column will change to indicate the present material assignment. Default colors are set at the time of installation but can be modified using the Options - Pen Color command. |
| Fence: | Fence an area in which the columns will be changed to the new material. The color of the columns will change to indicate the present material assignment. Default colors are set at the time of installation but can be modified using the Options - Pen Color command. |
Return to the Change Column Material dialog box with the Right Mouse Button or the "D" key.
Return to the Layout - Columns menu with the "M" key.
Clicking the Cancel button or selecting any other RAM Modeler Layout command will end the Layout - Columns - Change Material command.
