In MicroStation, workspaces are collections of configuration variable settings and user interface customizations that a user can select when running MicroStation. Similarly, in AutoCAD, profiles are used to store a user's drawing environment settings.

ProjectWise workspace profiles can define the location of a MicroStation workspace an AutoCAD profile. Once your administrator creates a workspace profile in ProjectWise Administrator, you can assign it to any folder or document in ProjectWise.

When you assign a workspace profile to a folder, all documents in that folder automatically inherit the folder's workspace profile. You can leave a document's inherited workspace profile as is, or you can override it by opening the document's Properties dialog and changing the workspace profile on the Workspace tab.
