Process File Formats

The Plant Builder can create the process model from process data input through files. This option enables you to automate their data transfer from intelligent P&IDs and similar applications or to recreate an earlier-built model that was saved in a compact format as the result of on-line data entry.

Seven files comprise one input set; they all have the same user-selected main file name and the following file specific suffixes:
  • A saved model flag with the suffix .rpa.
  • An equipment file with the suffix .rpe.
  • A pipeline file with the suffix .rpl.
  • A nozzle file with the suffix .rpn.
  • An inline component file with the suffix .rpi.
  • A boundary component file with the suffix .rpb.
  • A connectivity file with the suffix .rpc.

These files must be placed in the \input subdirectory of the current PlantWise project.

To build a model using these files, choose Model > Import… from the PlantWise Main dialog (see Model Commands), or select the process model input when creating a new model in the Plant Builder New Model dialog. To create these files from an existing model, choose Model > Save As from the PlantWise Main dialog.
