This chapter assumes:

• AssetWise Information Integrity Server and configured on another computer. For more information, see "AssetWise Information Integrity Server Configuration" in the AssetWise Implementation Guide.

AssetWise ALIM Web Server provides users with web access to AssetWise communities and supports connections from AssetWise ALIM Web users. Users connect to AssetWise ALIM Web Server, which in turn connects to AssetWise Information Integrity Server.

To configure AssetWise ALIM Web Server, first you install AssetWise ALIM Web Applications, which delivers a default set of plug-ins. Each plug-in contains specific AssetWise functionality. After you install AssetWise ALIM Web Applications, you create the website users connect to by creating a virtual directory in IIS and enabling the plug-ins containing the functionality you want to expose to your users. You can create multiple virtual directories if needed, for example, to expose different functionality to different users.
