Promote a Single Line route to 3D

The Mechanical discipline application is loaded using the Building Designer > Load Mechanical menu.

A valid HVAC route developed using the Single line feature is opened and it is ready to promote to 3D mode.

Select (Duct System Sizing).
The Duct Sizing Section Summary dialog opens. The summary table displays empty records until you load the duct system.

Note: The default unit, design data, and size criteria are applied as set in the Duct Sizing Settings dialog.
Click Load System and select the route element in the view.
After correct mapping of ends via the Assign & Analyze Connection dialog, the Duct Sizing loads and populates section summary data. Review the data to ensure all values are within the range.
Select Rebuild > Promote to 3D task from the toolbar of Duct Sizing dialog.
The current single line route gets promoted to a 3D model.

The single line model is preserved by adding a prefix sl to the filename <Filename>-sl.dgn in the same path of your DGN . This is helpful if you need further working in the single line model.

Note: Note that the duct segments mounted with inline devices are treated as single component until the route is promoted to 3D. The connecting fittings at bends, branches and transitions are those set in the Autofitting Preferences are mapped. The Promote to 3D option is enabled only to single line routes loaded in the Duct Sizing utility.
