Load Types > Initial stress/strain
Selection of a Load Type of the load type group for the definition of initial strains or initial stresses.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Temperature loading (T) | Uniform temperature change of the whole element over the whole cross-section and/or linear temperature gradient in local y or z direction. |
Cable shortening by force (FX0) | Definition of the theoretical stress-free length of an element, installed in the model in a stressed state, via specification of the corresponding stressing force. |
Stress free element length (LX0) | Definition of the theoretical stress-free length of an element, installed in the model in a stressed state. |
Strain state - bending part (secondary) (TB) | Definition of the bending part of an initial strain state via specification of equivalent internal forces (normal force, bending moments) |
Strain state - shear part (secondary) (TS) | Definition of the shear part of an initial strain state via specification of equivalent internal forces (torsion moment, shear forces) |
Strain state - bending part (primary) (TB0) | Definition of the primary part of the bending part of an initial strain state via specification of equivalent internal forces (normal force, bending moments) |
Strain state - shear part (primary) (TB) | Definition of the primary part of the bending part of an initial strain state via specification of equivalent internal forces (normal force, bending moments) |
Primary Stress in StressPoint (TSTR0) | Definition of primary stress in relevant stress points for calculation of stresses due to non-linear temperature distribution (alternative TempVar approach with directly stored stresses instead of working with fictitious primary forces specified by TB, TS and TB0). |
