Layout > Beams / Joists / C-Beam menu

Note: The menu title and the items that appear in the Layout > Beams / Joists / C-Beamâ„¢ menu are dependent on the material currently selected from the material menu. Not all menu options below are available with each material.
Menu Item Description


Add On-Grid
Opens the Add <material> On-Grid Mode dialog, which is used to add beams using the current Grid Lines and columns for beam end points.


Add Off-Grid
Opens the Add <material> Off-Grid Mode dialog, which is used to add a single beam using existing beams or columns as reference points.


Add Generation
Opens the Add <material> Generation Mode dialog, which is used to add multiple beams by using an existing line of beams as a reference.


Add Pan Joist/Beam
(Concrete only) Opens the Add Concrete Pan Joist/Beam Generation Mode dialog, which is used to add multiple concrete beams using pan forms.


Assign Cantilevers
Opens the Assign Cantilever Beam Mode dialog, which is used to add a cantilevered end to an existing beam.


Move
Opens the Move Beam dialog, which is used to move beams.


Offset
Opens the Offset Beam dialog, which is used to offset beams.


Assign Rigid Links
Opens the Assign Beam Rigid Links dialog, which is used to add or delete beam rigid links.


Delete
Opens the <material> Beam Delete dialog, which is used to delete beams.


Delete Cantilevers
Opens the <material> Cantilever Delete dialog, which is used to delete beam cantilevers.


Change Properties
Opens the Change <material> Beam Properties Mode dialog, which is used to change beam properties.


Change Materials
Opens the Change <material> Beam Material Mode dialog, which is used to change the material of an existing beam..


Show
Prompts you to select a beam and then opens the Beam Show Mode dialog, which is used to show the properties and location of a beam.


Size Restriction
(Steel, Steel Joist, and C-Beam only) Opens the <material> Beam Size Restriction Mode dialog, which is used to impose a depth restriction for the beam optimization on one or more beams.


Steel Table
(Steel, Steel Joist, and C-Beam only) Opens the Beam <material> Table Selection dialog, which is used to assign the default or alternate steel table to one or more beams.


LL Reduction
Opens the <material> Live Load Reduction dialog, which is used to assign a maximum live load reduction factor percentage to one or more beams.


Stub Cantilever Slope
Opens the Modify Stub Cantilever Slope dialog, which is used to modify the slope of stub cantilevers.
Web Openings >

Add
(Steel Only) Opens the Web Openings Layout Mode dialog, which is used to add web openings in steel beams.


Change
(Steel Only) Opens the Change Openings Layout Mode dialog, which is used to modify web openings in steel beams.


Delete
(Steel Only) Opens the Web Openings Delete Mode dialog, which is used to remove web openings in steel beams.


Show
Prompts you to select a beam and then opens the Web Opening Show Mode dialog, which is used to show the location and dimensions of a web opening.


Brace Points
Opens the User Brace Point Layout Mode dialog, which is used to define brace points along the top and/or bottom flange of a beam.


Assign Beam Fixity
Opens the Assign Beam Fixity dialog, which is used to assign end fixity conditions to beams.


Assign Duct Size
(C-Beam only) Opens the Assign Duct Size dialog, which is used to specify the size of duct that must pass through the opening of a C-Beam.


Assign Beam Size
Opens the Assign <material> Size Mode dialog, which is used to assign a size to one or more beams.


Clear Beam Size
Opens the Clear <material> Beam Size dialog, which is used to clear user assigned sizes and stud configurations that were assigned either in RAM Manager or RAM Steel Beam.
