DXF Column And Footing Schedule

Used to create a DXF file of the model base plan as well as column and footing schedules. The created DXF file can be read in by any DXF compatible program including most CAD programs.

General tab

SettingDescription
Style Two styles of files can be created:
  • Schedule + Base Plan - creates a column schedule with sizes, spread footing schedule, continuous footing elevation details, plus a base plan with column and footing marks. Identical columns are grouped and given the same column marks.
  • Base Plan Only with Size - creates a base plan only, with the column sizes and footing marks of the lowest level shown on the plan.
Column Mark Order The order by which the columns and footings are included in the schedule can be specified to be by:
  • Coordinates - Columns and Footings will be listed in order of ascending coordinates (e.g., columns/footings in the lower left corner of the plan will be listed first, those in the upper right corner of the plan will be listed last).
  • Quantity - Columns and footings will be listed in order of frequency of occurrence. That is, the column and footings that are most common will be listed first.
  • Weight - Columns and footings will be listed in order of total weight, with the heaviest column being listed first.

Group by Base Level - Columns will be ordered based on the lowest level of the column (e.g., columns that terminate at the lowest level will be listed first). If selected, this will establish the primary order for which columns are listed; Coordinates, Quantity, or Weight will then establish the order by which columns which terminate at the same level are listed. This is only applicable if columns terminate at various levels throughout the structure. If Base Plan Only with Size is selected, this option is ignored.

Include Selecting Columns includes Columns in the drawing. Selecting Footings includes Footings in the drawing.

Base Plan tab

These options are relevant for the base plan only.

SettingDescription
Drawing Scale Allows you to indicate the scale of the DXF file.
Grid System The Grid System list box contains a list of all of the grid systems in the model. The grid systems with a check mark next to them will be included in the DXF drawing. By default only the grid systems that are ON for the lowest story of the structure are selected.
Color/Layer Options Opens the DXF File Layer/Color Options dialog, which is used to select the color for each layer in the drawing.
Text Options Opens the DXF Base Plan Text Options dialog, which is used to specify the font and the size of text of the labels on the DXF file.
Misc Options Opens the DXF Base Plan Miscellaneous Options dialog, which is used to control various parameters of the base plan drawing.

Steel Column Schedule tab

These options are relevant to the Steel Column Schedule only.

Marks
  • Unique for each footing - unique for each spread footing or pile cape in the model
  • Same for identical footings - spread footings and pile caps with identical properties can be set to have the same mark
Note: All continuous footings have unique marks with their mark numbers starting after the last spread footing mark.
Top of Footing Check this option to include the Top of Footing (TOF) elevation with the footing mark in the plan drawing.
Orientation Check this option to include the footing orientation with the footing mark in the plan drawing.
