To generate a column and footing schedule

to generate DXF file containing schedules for columns and footings, use the following procedure.

Note: There are several options by which the DXF file can be customized. These include scale, pen colors, layer names, text size, etc. The defaults were established at the time the program was installed, but they may be modified for any particular DXF file.
  1. Either:

select Post Processing > DXF File > Column and Footing

    or

select the Column and Footing DXF tool

The DXF - Column & Footing Schedule dialog opens.
  2. Select the Style of schedule to generate.
    • Schedule + Base Plan - creates a column schedule with sizes, spread footing schedule, continuous footing elevation details, plus a base plan with column and footing marks. Identical columns are grouped and given the same column marks.
    • Base Plan Only with Size - creates a base plan only, with the column sizes and footing marks of the lowest level shown on the plan.
  3. Select the objects to Include and the Column Mark Order (for Schedules).

The order by which the columns are included in the schedule can be specified to be by Coordinates, by Quantity, or by Weight. If Coordinates is selected for Mark Order, columns will be listed in order of ascending coordinates (e.g., columns in the lower left corner of the plan will be listed first, those in the upper right corner of the plan will be listed last). If Quantity is selected for Mark Order, columns will be listed in order of frequency of occurrence. That is, the column that is most common will be listed first. If Weight is selected for Mark Order, columns will be listed in order of total weight, with the heaviest column being listed first.

  4. Select the base plan options:
    1. Select the Base Plan tab.
    2. Select the Drawing Scale to use for the plan.
    3. Select the Grid Systems to include. The default selected grid systems are the grid systems that were selected for the bottom story, the last time the RAM Manager was opened.
    4. (Optional) Set the Color/Layer Options, Text Options, and Misc Options as needed.
  5. Select the steel column schedule options:
Tip: This step is not necessary for Base Plan Only with Size.
    1. Select the Steel Column Schedule tab.
    2. Select the Drawing Scale to use for the plan.
    3. (Optional) Set the Color/Layer Options, Text Options, and Misc Options as needed.
  6. Select the concrete column schedule options:
Tip: This step is not necessary for Base Plan Only with Size.
    1. Select the Concrete Column Schedule tab.
    2. Select the Drawing Type to use.
      • Draw column cross section at each level
      • Denote bar arrangement using legend
    3. (Optional) Set the Color/Layer Options and Text Options as needed.
  7. Select the footing schedule options:
Tip: This step is not necessary for Base Plan Only with Size.
    1. Select the Footing Schedule tab.
    2. Select the Drawing Scale to use for the plan.
    3. (Optional) Set the Color/Layer Options and Text Options as needed.
    4. Select the Marks option to use.
      • Unique for each footing - unique for each spread footing or pile cape in the model
      • Same for identical footings - spread footings and pile caps with identical properties can be set to have the same mark
Note: All continuous footings have unique marks with their mark numbers starting after the last spread footing mark.
    5. Check the options to include the Top of Footing elevation and Orientation of the footing with the mark as needed.
Note: The spread footing mark order method in the schedule is taken to be the same as the column order method.
  8. Click OK.
