Room Division Properties

Contains controls used to set room division object properties.

Opens when the Room division Project Tree object´s pop-up menu is activated in the OpenBuildings Energy Simulator Project Tree and the Properties menu item is selected.

Note: The Properties For: Room division dialog box is a specialized instance of the Properties dialog box which displays only room division properties.
Tip: Units Display – Units are displayed using the default system of units that was defined for the project, but can be changed to display using alternative units.
SettingDescription
Name Used to enter a new name for the room division. By default, room divisions are automatically named using an incremental numbering system (1.1–1, 1.1–2, 1.1–3, etc).
Room Displays the room the room division is hierarchically related to. The Room property is a read only property.
Dimensions Contains controls used to display basic room division dimensions:
  • Height — Displays the room division height. The room division height is the same as the room which contains it. When using trace tools to create rooms, the room height is set with the Add floor tool or by adhering to the project settings made in the Defaults Manager dialog box’s Construction panel for the project.
  • Area — Displays the room division area. Area is calculated from the graphical elements (surfaces) that define the room division floor plan extents.
  • Volume — Displays the room division volume. Volume is calculated from the graphical elements (surfaces) that define the room division spacial extents.
Notifications panel Used to validate project data and resolve issues with project data in real time (as it is being entered in the Properties For: dialogs) via errors, warnings and messages.
