Contains controls to set the display style and attributes.

SettingDescription
Display Style Controls how the contents of a view display.
SET VIEW < FILLED | HIDDEN | PHONG | SMOOTH | WIREFRAME >
CHANGE VIEW < FILLED | HIDDEN | PHONG | SMOOTH | WIREFRAME >
CHANGE VIEW CUSTOM [ display_style_name ] [ view_number ]
Open Display Styles Dialog
Opens the Display Styles dialog , which is used to define and manage display styles in the active file.
ACS Triad

If on, a coordinate triad representing the Active Auxiliary Coordinate System (ACS) displays.
SET ACSDISPLAY [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Note: The ACS is controlled using the Auxiliary Coordinates dialog ( Drawing > Drawing Aids > ACS dialog launcher ).
Background

If on, the background displays.
SET BACKGROUND [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Boundary Display

Controls whether the boundaries of the clip volume are displayed for a given view, as well as reference clip boundaries.

Reference clipping is defined relative to the world coordinates, and the clipped volume will therefore remain the same in all views. Furthermore, it is possible to define a clipping boundary for a reference by selecting an element in the master file rather than a fence. Any closed planar element (shape, circle, ellipse, complex shape, grouped hole etc.) may be selected. Modifying the clip element causes the view to redisplay automatically to reflect the new clipping boundary.

SET REFBOUND [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Note: Reference clipping boundaries are defined with the Set Reference Clip Boundary tool.
Camera

If on, the view camera is on for the view. This control is disabled (dimmed) if the active DGN file is 2D.
SET CAMERA < OFF | ON | TOGGLE >
Note: See Perspective projection for information about using the view camera.
Clip Back

Toggles the display of elements and parts of elements located outside a 3D view's clipping planes. If on, a back clipping plane is active in a view.
Clip Front

Enables you to toggle the display of elements and parts of elements located outside a 3D view's clipping planes.

If on, a front clipping plane is active in a view.

Clip Volume

Toggles the display of elements and parts of elements located outside a defined Clip Volume for a given view. If on, and a clip volume has been applied to the view, the view volume is restricted to the defined volume. If no clip volume has been applied to the view, it has no effect.
VIEW CLIP [ ALL | ICON | SINGLE ]
Constructions

If on, construction elements (those with the Class attribute of Construction) display.
SET CONSTRUCT [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Note: Constructions typically are turned off in a view before plotting or rendering.
Default Lighting

Use the built-in camera lights in the model.
Dimensions

If on, dimension elements display. Turning Dimensions off can decrease view update time.
SET DIMENSION [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
(Enter) Data Fields

If on, Enter data fields are displayed.
SET ED [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
SET EDCHAR
Displayset
If on, display of elements is restricted to only those elements in the current displayset.
SET DISPLAYSET [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Named Presentation
If on, it will allow the display of elements, added to Named Presentations within a parametric cell, in the respective view orientations.
Placement Point

If on, it will display placement points on cells.
In the cell definition file, when placement points are selected in the Parametric Components dialog, Placement Points listbox, they will highlight on the element.

Note: Placement points will display only after Show Placement Points option is selected in the reset menu for the cells after placement.

Fast Cells

If on, cells display as outlines. Turning Fast Cells on can decrease view update time.
SET CELLS [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Fast Curves Fast Curves is no longer available through the View Attributes dialog. It is only available through its key-in.
SET CURVES [ FAST | SLOW | TOGGLE ]
Tip: Turning Fast Curves on can decrease view update time.
Fill

If on, solid, closed elements with Fill Type of None or Opaque display with color fill.
SET FILL [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Grid

If on, the grid displays. Its uniformly placed dots (grid points) and crosses (grid references) provide an indication of distances as a visual aid and a means of facilitating drawing precision with Grid Lock .
SET GRID [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Note: To set up or modify grid units, refer to the section c-Using the Grid.
Level Overrides

If on, level symbology overrides — the override color, numbered line style, line weight, and material associated with each level — display in the view, instead of the color, numbered line style, and line weight of each element.
SET LVLSYMB [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
SET REFLEVELOVERRIDES [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Note: To set level symbology overrides, use the Level Manager dialog (Settings > Levels > Manager).
Line Styles

If on, elements display with their custom line style, if they have one.

If off, all elements with custom line styles display with the standard solid line style (0). Turning Line Styles off can decrease view update time.

Line Weights

If on, elements display with their line weight.

If off, all elements display with a line weight of zero. Turning Line Weights off can decrease view update time.

SET WEIGHT [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Markers

If on, Markers are displayed in the model. When you click the down arrow next to the icon, you get list of detailing symbols available in the model. Select the required check box for viewing the markers of the respective detailing symbol. Also, if your design has constraints applied, you will find the display toggle of the constraints in this same list of detailing symbols.
SET MARKERS [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
SET CONSTRAINTS [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Patterns

If on, pattern elements display. Turning Patterns off can decrease view update time.
SET PATTERN [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Tags

If on, tags display in the selected view(s).
SET TAGS [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Text

If on, text elements display. Since text elements take longer to display than most other elements, turning Text off can decrease view update time.

Text Nodes

If on, empty text nodes displayed as small crosses with numeric identifiers. However, in most cases displaying text nodes is unnecessary.
SET NODES [ OFF | ON | TOGGLE ]
Transparency

If on, applies transparency to elements, references, and levels.
Height Field

If on, toggles the display of height maps applied to materials in the PBR mode.
Global Brightness The Global Brightness slider lets you adjust the brightness of the elements. Only available with Display Styles of Shaded and above.
