AssetWise CONNECT Edition Implementation Guide

Upgrading From a Previous Version

This topic specifically describes how to upgrade from a previously installed version of AssetWise CONNECT Edition Asset Lifecycle Information Management.

If you are deploying a new environment or need specific information on re-deploying any part of an existing deployment, refer to other topics in this guide.

  1. Uninstall AssetWise Information Integrity Server, and then install the latest version.
  2. Uninstall AssetWise Director, and then install the latest version.
  3. Copy the latest AssetWise CONNECT Edition ALIM AssetWise database packages from [Deployment_directory]\common\eB Data Packages to the server, or install [Deployment_directory]\common\database\AssetWise.eB.Database.Packages.msi .
    Note: See Installing Transportation Database Packages for details.
  4. Using AssetWise System Management Console, update the database by running the packages needed for the deployment.
  5. If a schemgen hotfix DLL for the current version of the eBECPlugin exists, copy the hotfix DLL into the server's engines. See Patching the AssetWise EC Schema Generator.
    Note: This must be performed prior to generating the EB_EC_SCHEMA.
  6. Locate the latest EB_EC_SCHEMA document version, expand the Files section, expand MASTER, and then delete the three MASTER files.
  7. Upload the latest files from the [Deployment_directory]\common\ec_schemas\FirstSchemaGen\ec_schemas directory.
  8. Uninstall the existing WSG and install the new version, using the latest AssetWise Provider.
  9. Uninstall the existing AssetWise CONNECT Edition ALIM website, and then install the new version.
  10. Log in to AssetWise CONNECT Edition ALIM and regenerate the EC Schema.
  11. Uninstall the existing Bentley Forms Designer website, and then install the new version.
