Workflow Types
Static Review Tasks
With the Static Review Tasks approach there is a set number of review tasks that may not be changed. Below is an example, as configured in AssetWise Director:
Note that there may be an exception to this scenario if the ALIM System Administrator configures one or more tasks that can be skipped. If a task is skipped, the user must provide a reason, which is recorded and can be viewed from the "View History" action on the skipped task.
Parallel Review Tasks
With the Parallel Review Tasks approach, a set of conditional tasks are configured in the template as parallel tasks. Below is an example, as configured in AssetWise Director:
In the illustration above, a blue, dashed arrow indicates a conditional task. Conditional tasks can be selected or deselected when the previous task is completed. For example, when the T001 CREATE task is complete in ALIM, a dialog appears, prompting the user to include or exclude the subsequent parallel tasks.
Parent Review Task Containers
A Parent Review Task Container (also referred to as a review task container), is used to hold any number of child review tasks. Typically, it consists of a set of templates that are created by the ALIM System Administrator. Once a Comments Tracking workflow of this type is created, the Lead Reviewer can add or remove tasks to tailor the workflow to a specific set of review requirements.
To add and remove child review tasks using a Parent Task Container workflow, see Adding and Removing Child Review Tasks on a Parent Task Container.
