Add Surface Concentrated Load dialog

This dialog is used to assign a point load at a specified location on the surface.

Opens when the Point tool is selected on the Surface ribbon tab in the Loads group.

Property Value
Load Select the load case or load group to which this load will be added.
Tip: The current load case or group is the default selection. This is displayed in the program status bar and can be changed on the View ribbon tab in the Active Load group.
Magnitude The magnitude of the load. Negative values may be used to reverse the direction.
Select on model Click Select to click on a node or grid intersection on the surface to define the load location. The Distance in x and Distance in y values are populated with these local coordinate values.
Distance in x The distances from N1 along the surface local x axis.
Distance in y The distances from N1 along the surface local y axis.
Direction Select the direction in which the force acts:
  • Global X / Y / Z – to apply loads parallel to the selected global axis.
  • Local x / y / z – to apply loads parallel to the local surface axis. Local x and y loads are in the plane of the surface.
