To assign a member's cross section, do the following.

1. Select the members which will all have the same section.
2. Select the Section tool in the Assign properties group on the Member ribbon tab.
   
   The Assign section dialog opens.
3. You can assign a previously defined section or add a new section for use.

   assign a previously defined section	Select Model from the Source drop-down list.
   assign a new section	Select either Catalog or User Database from the Source drop-down list

4. Click OK. The dialog closes and the section selections are assigned to the selected members.
