To assign supports along a member

To assign supports at evenly spaced points along a member, use the following procedure.

This procedure adds a series of evenly spaced point supports along members. When the physical model is decomposed into an analytical model, these are nodal supports.

Select the members which will have the same number of supports along their length.
On the Member ribbon tab, select the Custom tool in the Supports group.

The Assign Custom Linear Support dialog opens.
Select the Support type from the drop-down list.
Type the number of Segments to use along the length of the members.

Custom linear supports can be reviewed and edited by selecting the Linear supports tool in the Members group on the Spreadsheet ribbon tab.
