To add a seismic definition load case

To add a load case for your static seismic definition load, use the following procedure.

Seismic definitions can not be used with a load group. Only load cases have the option for the seismic definition category.
  1. On the Model ribbon tab, select the Load Case tool in the Loads group.

The Add Load Case dialog opens.
  2. Type a unique Name for the load case. This is helpful in identifying the load case.
  3. (Optional) Type a Description for the load case.
  4. Select Seismic Definition from the Category drop-down list.
Tip: The Seismic General category can be used to specify general loads as seismic for use with load combinations.
  5. Select the seismic definition from the Parameter Set drop-down list.
  6. Specify the global Direction in which the load acts by selecting either the X, Y, or Z Option.
  7. (Optional) Type a scale Factor to use for this load.
  8. Click OK. The load case is created and selected as the current load case.
Note: No loads are graphically displayed for static seismic or response spectrum load cases.
You may repeat this procedure to add additional load cases applying the seismic definition in another direction.

Seismic load case details can be viewed and edited by selecting the Seismic Load Cases tool in the Reference group on the Spreadsheet ribbon tab.
