Reactions

The Reaction command displays reactions at foundation nodes based on latest analysis results. All analyzed loads cases are tabulated in Reactions diagram.

If the Display option is checked and the Apply button is pressed, the reactions for a chosen load case are displayed with green arrows at foundation nodes. These arrows are proportionally scaled to signify their magnitudes.

You have the option to show different reaction types (moments or forces) by selecting Rx, Ry, Rz, Mx, My, Mz, or combination of them. Only selected types are shown on the screen.

To remove the arrows from the screen, uncheck Display option and then press the Apply button.

Show Magnitude option adds text next to the arrows to display magnitude of the reaction forces. Correct units for forces are also shown.

The arrows on screen can be scaled by entering a value in Scale for Arrow Size edit box. Note that no value less than zero is allowed and the default value is 1.0.

Walls are meshed along their lengths and additional foundation nodes may be created during this process. Show Reactions for All Nodes is used to show reactions at all these foundation nodes. Note that if this option is not checked, reaction values are only shown for wall physical nodes at the foundation. This option has no effect on columns and braces at foundation level.

The Cancel button closes the diagram.

Note: Closing this diagram or invoking Reset Model does not remove the arrows from the screen.
