Lateral loads can be applied directly to lateral frames as Nodal Loads. These loads are defined and applied in RAM Modeler rather than in RAM Frame.

Selecting View > Nodal Loads opens the Nodal Load Options dialog. To display the nodal loads on the screen, set the Display check box. The load label or the load magnitude can be displayed with the nodal load by selecting the Label check box and then choosing the type of label desired.

When the Display check box is selected, the nodal load cases in the Nodal Load Cases list box become active. From this list box, select the nodal load case to display by clicking on it.

Note that the single-headed arrow indicates a force and the double-headed arrow represents a moment rotating around global axis. Using the right-hand rule, the thumb points in the direction of the double-headed arrow and the fingers are in the direction of moment.

To update the view on your screen while leaving the Nodal Load Options dialog box open, click Apply. To update the view on your screen and close the Nodal Load Options dialog box, click OK.
