View - Rotate

Selecting the View - Rotate command causes the Rotate Angles dialog box to appear. With this dialog box, you can tilt and rotate the model in the current window.

The Rotate and the Tilt commands each have an edit box. You can enter a number representing degrees in either box, or use the arrows to scroll to the desired degree of tilt or rotation.

The Rotate command also has a full dial control and the Tilt command has a quarter dial control as another option for indicating rotation and tilt angle. These dial controls can be used in four different ways:

  1. Clicking the dots on the outside of the circle will snap the degree of rotation or tilt to the nearest 45 degrees.
  2. Clicking anywhere on the exterior of the circle will cause the degree of rotation or tilt to snap to the nearest 5 degrees.
  3. Clicking anywhere on the interior of the circle will cause the degree of rotation or tilt to snap to the nearest degree.
  4. Click and drag the X-axis on the rotation dial or the Z-axis on the tilt dial to continuously adjust the tilt or rotation.

You can preview the view you have selected before displaying to the screen by clicking the Preview button. To update the view on your screen while leaving the Rotate Angles dialog box open, click the Apply button. To update the view on your screen and close the Rotate Angles dialog box, click the OK button.
