Layout - Beams - Change Materials
The Layout - Beam - Change Materials command allows you to change steel joists or beams of one material to beams of a different material.
- From the Material menu, select the material to which a beam is to be changed.
- Select Layout - Beams - Change Materials. The properties of the New Material will be visible. Make changes if desired.
- Click either Single or Fence.

| Single: | Click the target cursor on the beam whose material you would like to change to the new material. The color of the beam will change to indicate the present material assignment. Default colors are set at the time of installation but can be modified using the Options - Pen Color command. |
| Fence: | Fence an area in which all beams will be changed to the new material. The color of the beams will change to indicate the present material assignment. Default colors are set at the time of installation but can be modified using the Options - Pen Color command. |
Return to the Change Beam Material dialog box with the Right Mouse Button or the "D" key.
Return to the Layout - Beams menu with the "M" key.
Clicking the Cancel button or selecting any other RAM Modeler Layout command will end the Layout - Beams - Change Material command.
