Layout - Loads - Snow

Selecting the Layout - Loads - Snow command causes the Snow Load Layout Mode dialog box to appear. The load properties must be specified in PropTable_ - Loads - Snow before being assigned.

Clicking the Whole Floor, Add, Show, Change, or Delete buttons will cause the dialog box to disappear, and the RAM Modeler to enter the Snow Load Layout Mode.

Note that only snow or roof live load can exist at one time, they will not be able to be applied at the same time. The option of which to consider can be found in RAM Manager in the Criteria - Live Load Reduction dialog. RAM Steel Beam will consider the snow as a roof live load.

Overlapping Snow Loads assignments can be made. Snow loads are not additive. The last assigned snow load takes precedence over any snow loads assigned previously (underneath it).

In order to load slab edge overhangs, you must ensure that the snow load assignment extends beyond the perimeter beams and over the slab overhangs. Snow Load polygons can be placed well beyond the slab edge, and will be clipped to the slab edge automatically by the program.

It is not necessary to assign snow loads in Frame Only models.

How To:

Return to the Snow Load Layout dialog box with the Right Mouse Button or the "D" key.

Return to the Layout - Loads menu with the "M" key.

Clicking the Cancel button or selecting any other RAM Modeler Layout command will end the Layout - Loads - Snow command.
