To change the properties of Steel Beams, you must be in Steel mode.

Select Items to Change:

Click any or all of the items to change: Framing, Shape, Composite Flag, Fy. Note that not all items are available while in Elevation view.

Select Beam Properties for the item(s) you have chosen to change:

1. Select the framing type for the beams to be changed by clicking the Gravity or Lateral option button.
2. Select a shape by clicking one of the option in the drop-down menu: I section, Rectangular HS, or Channel.
3. Select the Composite Flag by clicking the Composite or Non-Composite option button. Note that the program will automatically determine the instances in which a beam must be designed non-compositely, such as an exposed beam or non-composite deck. You need only specify the non-composite flag in cases not obvious to the program.
4. Type a yield strength value for the beam in the Fy edit box.
