The majority of the modeling process takes place in Plan Mode. For those models that will not be analyzed with RAM Frame, it is not necessary to use Elevation Mode.

The following is an overview of Modeling in Plan Mode including modeling structural members, defining decks and slab edges and applying loads. Detailed descriptions of each command are included in the on-line help.

Many of the modeling commands, such as some of the Layout commands or all of the Materials commands, appear both in the Plan view modeler and the Elevation view modeler. Rather than including these commands in both this chapter and the next, they will be covered just in this chapter.
