Frame Story Shear
The Frame Story Shear command displays calculated frame shears after analysis is completed.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
load case list | It displays a list of load cases created by the user or by the program. All load cases are included (if created) in the list except load cases for center of rigidity and Eigen Analysis Load Cases. |
Type | Two types of frame shears can be displayed on screen: Total Frame Shears and Change in Frame Shears at the story levels. |
Components | Calculated frame shears are in global X and Y directions and they are included or excluded on screen as choosing appropriate options in Components section. |
Show Magnitude | Setting this option adds text next to the arrows to display the magnitude of the frame shears. The arrows on screen can be scaled by typing a value in Scale for Arrow edit box. |
Display | If the Display option is checked and the Apply button is pressed, the calculated frame shears for chosen load case are displayed with arrows at frame geometric center at each story level. |
Scale for Arrow | Type a value to use for scaling the arrows. Note that no value less than zero is allowed and the default value is 1.0. The arrows are proportionally scaled to signify their relative magnitudes. |
To remove the arrows from the screen, uncheck Display option and then press the Apply button. Note that closing this diagram or invoking Reset Model does not remove the arrows from the screen.
The Cancel button closes the diagram
