Selecting Assign > Frame Type opens the Assign Frame Type dialog. From this dialog, you can assign frame types to Lateral Frame members. The types of frames available to be assigned are dependent on the selected seismic provision steel code. Not all frame types are available for all steel design codes. Be aware that changing steel codes after frame types have been assigned may invalidate some of the frame types (if they are not available in the new design code). The appropriate special seismic provision checks will be performed for each member based on its type.

Select a frame type from the list of available types. Frame types can be assigned one member at a time, multiple members at a time, or to all the members at once, by clicking Single, Fence or All respectively.
