ProjectWise projects improve collaboration with distributed teams by providing web-based access to your on-premise ProjectWise Design Integration datasources. Each project contains a collection of cloud services that provide additional capabilities for you to further manage your ProjectWise content. You can create ProjectWise projects for your organization in either ProjectWise 365 or the CONNECT Center.

When you get to ProjectWise 365 or the CONNECT Center, you will be prompted to sign in with your Bentley IMS account. To create a project, your organization must already be registered with Bentley, you must already have a Bentley IMS account (Bentley profile), and you must have admin or co-admin privileges associated with your Bentley IMS account. Also, each user who accesses the project will also need to have a Bentley IMS account.

Most of the services available in a project are fully configurable from the project itself in the cloud, however some of the cloud services require some on-premise configuration. Specifically:

• Adding and using work areas in ProjectWise 365 and ProjectWise Web requires installing and deploying Bentley Web Services Gateway (WSG) and the ProjectWise Plug-in for WSG. You can download these items from the Software Downloads page. Instructions for configuring these items is documented in the ProjectWise Web and Drive help.
• ProjectWise Administrator contains a setting that allows work area connections to be automatically added to the associated project in ProjectWise 365 or ProjectWise Web whenever a work area is associated to a ProjectWise project in ProjectWise Explorer. Instructions for configuring this setting are documented in the ProjectWise Administrator help, and also in the ProjectWise Web and Drive help.
• Users can install ProjectWise Deliverables Management connector for ProjectWise Explorer, if they need to send and receive deliverables packages from ProjectWise project-associated work areas in ProjectWise Explorer. You can download ProjectWise Deliverables Management connector for ProjectWise Explorer from the Software Downloads page, or you can install it from the ProjectWise Explorer installer. Instructions for using the connector are documented in the ProjectWise Deliverables Management connector for ProjectWise Explorer help.
• For projects in the CONNECT Center, the ProjectWise Analytics Data Upload Service can be installed on-premise if you are using ProjectWise Project Insights and you need to upload document data from your on-premise ProjectWise datasources. You can download ProjectWise Analytics Data Upload Service from the Software Downloads page, or you can install it from the ProjectWise Administrator installer.
