Server Properties dialog

Displays general information about the ProjectWise server, and lets you control various server settings. The Server Properties dialog opens when you right-click the name of a server in ProjectWise Administrator and select Properties.

SettingDescription
General tab
  • Identification area — Displays the computer name and IP address of the server.
  • This server can publish datasources — If on, you can create new datasources on the server. You need a license for this option.
  • This server can only publish links — If on, you cannot create datasources on the server, but you can access existing ones. You do not need a license for this option.
Security tab
  • Select security type - Connections — Used to deny connections to the server from specified computers, or to allow connections from a computer that is in the denied IP range.
  • Select security type - Datasource list publishing — Used to prevent the server's datasource list from being published to specified computers, or to allow the server's datasource list to be published to a computer that is in the Do not publish to IP range.
  • Allow / Deny list — When Select security type is set to Connections, the Deny field is used to deny connections from the specified computers. You only need to add computers to the Allow list if you specify a range of IP addresses to deny, and you want to allow connections from one of the computers in the denied IP range. In either field you can enter an IP address, address range, or host name of the computer(s) you want to allow / deny.
  • Publish to / Do not publish to list — When Select security type is set to Datasource list publishing, the Do not publish to field is used to prevent the datasource from being published to the specified computers. You only need to add computers to the Publish to list if you specify a range of IP addresses to not publish to, and you want to publish to one of the computers in the do not publish to IP range. In either field you can enter an IP address, address range, or host name of the computer(s) you want to Publish to / Do not publish to.
Timeouts tab Used to set the length of time a connection can be idle (not sending requests to the server) before it is closed.
  • Time Out — Time in seconds that the connection can be idle before the connection is dropped by the server. The default is 600.
  • Wait Busy — Time in seconds that the request by the web client may wait on the server to get services in the situation that the server is currently serving the same client on another operation. The default is 0.
Connection tab
  • Use secure connection — Turn this setting on when you want the server to run in secure mode. Turning this setting on enables the SSL certificate common name field.
  • SSL certificate common name — Running in secure mode requires an SSL certificate. After turning on Use secure connection, enter the common name (CN) of your secure certificate.
Note: After you configure the settings on the Connection tab, you must restart the service for the ProjectWise Design Integration Server, in order to switch the server to now run in secure mode.
Encryption tab Displays the public key of the ProjectWise Design Integration Server, which the ProjectWise Caching Server uses to validate client requests and verify the user's access.
Spatial tab Used to set the location of the coordinate systems dictionary, which by default is set to C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProjectWise\bin\dictionary. The coordinate systems dictionary defines what coordinate systems are available for adding to the datasource.
