ProStructures Options - Shapes - Naming Conventions tab

Used to specify naming conventions for unnamed shapes.

Used to indicate a general default consisting of format variables and constant designations for the indicated shape type in question.

Setting	Description
Template for description of unnamed Shapes	Round Bar/Rod – sets name template for unnamed round steels. Pipe/Tube – sets name template for unnamed round pipes. Square Hollow Section – sets name template for unnamed quad pipes. Rectangular Hollow – sets name template for unnamed rectangular pipes. Square Bar – sets name template for unnamed rectangular shapes. Use Flat – sets name template for unnamed flat steels.

All format variables begin with a dollar sign, $, and are placed in parenthesis.

Format specifications

Format Variable	Shape Parameter
$(W)	Shape width
$(H)	Shape height
$(T)	Shape thickness
$(D)	Outside diameter in case of round shapes or edge length at square shapes

Anything other than a format variable is used as literal text.
