Groups are specified graphically using one of two methods:
- Fence the items in CAD.
- Select the items with the
CAD selection tool.
- Selections in CAD can be
made by either dragging a selection box around items or by clicking on items
individually. If you want to select several items that are not near each other,
multiple items can be selected by holding the control button while clicking on
each item of the group.
Once selected, the Group Movement dialog is opened when you
select the
Dynamic Copy/Move button on the
Plant Toolbox.
Note: The Dynamic Copy/Move
command first looks for a CAD fence, if there is a fence, any otherwise
selected components will be ignored.
Note: Because CAD can be
unreliable about displaying objects that are selected, you may want to use the
CAD command to Select None
() to clear possible selection sets before
starting a Dynamic command that will collect group members by selection rather
then by fence.
Note: If there are no items
selected, and there is a Group Movement dialog open, you will be prompted with
a message. By selecting
Yes, you re-activate the group in the open Group
Movement dialog.
