Common Issues
- If the drawing looks incomplete when opened, you should first try the CAD Fit View command.
- If you are seeing scale inconsistencies in PlantDrafter output, it is likely that there is a problem with the working units. Working units must be the same in the:
- Many drawing settings, such
as font and dimension text, are defined in the sheet file.
Note: These types of settings are not saved automatically; you must select to save the settings ( or <Ctrl+F>) before exiting the sheet file. For PlantDrafter specific settings, see "Design File Settings", below.
- If items that are not
automatically created by
PlantDrafter are missing from the drawing:
- The object’s level must be set to On in the Drawing Levels tab.
- Check to see that the
missing items are drawing on the correct level in the model.
- Components placed by the router with exceptions are drawn on the exception level (unless overridden in Project Setup – see Piping).
- User-placed components and manipulated pipelines are drawn on the frozen level.
- Components trying to draw on a level name that is not in the model’s seed file are drawn on level 1.
- Models with un-placed equipment can cause a warning on drawing open. Once acknowledged, the drawing should generate. If this is not the case, contact Bentley Systems as discussed in "Reporting Problems".
- If changes made in the Template Editor do not seem to be implemented in the drawing, delete older versions of the drawing.
- Bentley Systems also suggests detaching all reference drawings before using PlantDrafter.
