To define a new piece of equipment

Right mouse clicking in the Equipment Library table body opens the menu. Those operations are be performed on the component of the currently selected row.

  1. Enter a unique equipment identifier into the Tag field. The equipment Tag must be a character string without periods < . >, slashes < / >, or spaces.
  2. Select the equipment type from the library using the selection arrow right of the Equipment Type entry field or by entering the name directly.
  3. (Optional) Type a description into the Description entry field.
  4. (Optional) Enter a UnitID.
  5. Click Apply to add the new equipment to the scroll list.
Before accepting the equipment information, any field may be edited. Multiple additions and/or changes can be made before clicking Apply. The text for changed cells will be shown in .
Note: Once a piece of equipment is defined in the process model, it is assigned a geometric definition from the equipment library according to the selected Equipment Type. Editing the geometry for an individual piece of equipment or for the entire equipment class, is documented in the Equipment Library chapter.

To edit existing information in the Equipment List dialog

Click in the cell and make the desired change.

If you change the equipment type, PlantWise prompts with the message shown below.

To delete existing equipment from the model

  1. Click on the blank column to the left of the Tag of the equipment to be deleted.
  2. Select Delete from the Edit or popup menu. A Delete confirmation dialog appears.
  3. Answer the prompt "Are you sure you want to delete the Equipment <Tag>" in the delete confirmation dialog with Yes to complete the delete process or No to cancel the process.
