Adding Attributes to an Equipment Class

  1. To add a new attribute, enter the new attribute name in the Name field in the Local Attributes section; if the attribute is a measurement of some distance, select the Distance check box; and click Add. The new attribute appears in the Local Attributes scroll list. Any equipment attribute included here can be referred to by the Equipment Assembly Language, the Nozzle Placement Language and the Equipment Vicinity Routing Language.
  2. Selection lists can be created for attributes in the Value field after the new attribute has been added and accepted. The format for defining values is: (value1 value2 value3 ... valueN) with value1 becoming the default value for equipment instances.
  3. To delete a local attribute, select the attribute in the Local Attributes and click Delete in the Local Attributes section of the dialog.
  4. Accept the new class with the new local attributes into the equipment library. If the equipment already existed, Accept adds or deletes only those attributes that were set to be added or deleted in the editing session.
  5. Close the window.

Allowable Nozzle Types

All equipment classes have the ALLOWABLE_NOZZLE_TYPE attribute. Each piece of equipment in the standard library (except the ladder) has a list of nozzle types. Nozzle types are used extensively in the nozzle placement rules of the standard equipment library.
