Routing Volume Dimensions

The Location values are the bottom center of the volume. The width is the dimension in the east/west direction and the length is the dimension in the north/south direction when the Rotation value is 0.0. The Width is always perpendicular to the normal direction of travel of pipes through the volume, that is, the amount of space for pipes to berth. The Height is always the space available for pipes to stack in the direction of travel, that is the space for routing levels. Length is always along the direction of travel. This means that if the Routing Volume is vertical, the length will be the elevation change from the bottom to the top of the volume.

Horizontal Routing Volume Dimensions.

Vertical Routing Volume Dimensions.

Since there are no structural members associated with a routing volume there is an option to allow Flat Routing in/out of the volume.

Flat Routing Allowed.

The default has this option turned off. The result is shown below. When Flat Routing is not allowed the pipes will rise/drop to the appropriate routing level to enter/leave the volume.

Flat Routing turned off.
