Query Browser

You can use Queries feature to retrieve iTwin data. These queries maybe user-defined queries, shared queries or default queries. Query data can be modified or exported into Excel format.

Queries can be edited, exported, and reimported using the Query Builder.

Layout and Settings

The Query Browser page is divided into three sections, the Queries pane, the Menu Bar and Spreadsheet Data. For example,

Queries Pane

The Queries pane appears along the left side. It lists all available data queries for the current user:
  • Refresh ( ) – When a new changeset is available, you can synchronize the briefcase with latest available changeset. For more information, see Refreshing theBriefcase
  • My Queries – User-defined queries only available to the current user. Queries in this section can be promoted to Shared Queries in order to be shared with members of your project team.
  • Shared Queries – Data queries that are available to all members of your project team. These queries can be queries that were created by you, or other project members.
    • Template – Predefined data queries that are available to all users. Default queries can be deleted, renamed but cannot be promoted. You can use any default query as the basis for your own personal query.

Menu Bar

The Menu Bar appears to the top-right of the Queries pane. It displays the different tools such as Edit mode, Search bar, Column options for grids, etc.

Spreadsheet Data

The Spreadsheet Data appears to the right of the Queries pane and displays the query results for the currently selected query. For example,
