File Selection and Settings

The File tab opens the backstage view where you can perform different operations such as managing your document and settings, importing and exporting files, accessing help, and so on.

The help for the majority of these operations is located in the MicroStation help file, but there are some civil operations of interest.
Note: Select a link to "jump" to the desired Selection and Settings group.

License Management

Used to check out application and program licenses that are under concurrent license control of the SELECTserver License Manager to systems that are not continually connected to a network with access to SELECTserver, such as workstations, laptops, and portables.

AccuDraw Settings

Contains controls relevant to the AccuDraw point input tool. See MicroStation help for details.

Customize Ribbon

Used to customize the ribbon. See MicroStation help for more details.

Explorer Settings

Used to set different options for the Explorer dialog.

Preferences

Used to set user preferences - settings that control how the product operates.

Tool Boxes

Used to open toolboxes, including a variety of civil tools. See MicroStation help for more details.

Design File Settings

Used to change design file-specific settings.

File > Publish i-model

Option

Publish i-model

Used to convert a design file into an .i.dgn file. All design files that can be opened in MicroStation can be converted into an i-model. See the MicroStation help for more details.

Help Contents

Opens the OpenRail Web help in your default Web browser.

RSS Reader

Opens the RSS Reader.

Readme

Opens the product Readme.
