New and Changed in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition Update 7

The following items summarize the new features and enhancements in the current OpenPlant Modeler release.

Feature Description
Import Tags from External Database A new option has been added letting you import tag instances from an external database file. The following file formats are supported when importing tags:
  • Excel - *.xls, *.xlsx
  • Access - *.mdb, *.accdb
  • SQLite - *.db, *.db3, *.sqlite, *.sqlite3
Report to ProjectWise When generating reports, OpenPlant Modeler can now recognize when you are working in a Managed Workspace. Once a report is generated, the Report Form now has an option enable ProjectWise Integration when exporting the report. This lets you export the report to a directory in the managed workspace if desired.
Reserve Tags Configuration Variable OpenPlant Modeler now has the ability to reserve tags in the PlantSight iModel when placing a component. By default, the application will not check for duplicate tags until the changes are synced with PlantSight where you are prompted with the Duplicate Tags Dialog.

When the following configuration variable is added to the active <WorkSet>.cfg file, a tag will be reserved in PlantSight upon placement of a tagged component:

OP_TAGGING_RESERVE_ALWAYS = 1

AutoMerge Duplicate Pipelines New functionality has been added allowing a user to merge duplicate pipelines, if necessary, before checking in changes to PlantSight.
Display information on locked out components A new menu has been added when right-click on a checked out item in the Project Explorer dialog which displays the lock information on the component.
PlantSight Portal A new icon was added to the ribbon which will launch the PlantSight Portal.
